What is the purpose of MultiDomain?
This option allows you to attach several domains to one Plan hosting. You may create a website for each of those domains and host it on your Plan.

What are the advantages?
You don't need to order a new hosting for each of your domains. You may divide your web space into as many parts as you need. It looks as if you had separate accounts/hosting for each domain, but you don't need to several access codes to it.

Who may use it?
This option is available only for: Personal, Pro, Business, and Premium hosting plans.

Note: The options concerns only web space for your domain. To manage email services you may create email redirections or oder MX Plan.

How to activate Multidomain option?
If you have a domain.com, which is your main domain for the hosting, and domain.net which is the domain you'd like to add, activation takes place in three stages:

1. Configuration of DNS for a new domain (domain.net)
2. Creation of subdomain (sub.domain.com)
3. Redirection of subdomain

DNS configuration
To make Multidomain work, the new domain need to be redirected to the same IP address as the main domain. You need to change the A field of the new domain (domain.net)

To be sure that the IP is the adequate, type in a command line windows (either Windows or Linux):


This change may take a little while to be effective (1-2 hours).

If your domain is registered in OVH:

You may make these changes in Manager v3.

1. Choose "Domains & DNS"

2. Then select "DNS zone" icon .

3. Select "A type"



Leave "Subdomain" field empty and select the IP address to which you'd like to redirect it.
It takes approx. 24h to create/redirect a domain.

If your domain is not registered in OVH:

Contact your registrar or ISP company and ask to change "A field" for your domain. It need to be redirected to your hosting's IP.
Unfortunately, it cannot be done in our Manager.

Creating a subdomain
This stage requires creating a subdomain for your main domain, e.g. http://sub.domain.com. It will allow you to place your websites in separate folders. It will be visible in a couple of hours.

You may create your subdomain in manager v3 in the section "Website hosting" , then "Subdomain" and "Create" .
Insert the subdomain name (sub.domain.com) and the chosen folder name. Click "Accept" to finish operation.
You may access that folder with your FTP password and login, and place your files for domain.net.

Redirection of a new domain to a subdomain
Thanks to this redirection your new website will be available at http://www.domain.net.
Log into manager v3 and choose the icon "Website hosting" , then choose "MultiDomain" and "Create" .
Enter the name of your new domain (domain.net)in "MultiDomain" box. Then choose the created subdomain (sub.domain.com) and the folder, tick also "create a www subdomain". Click "Accept" to finish.

Errors
The main domain (domain.com) is accessible but the other one is not (domain.net).
You didn't follow all the steps in "Redirection" process. You need to declare domain.net and www.domain.net.

You have problem with creating your Multi-domain. Manager replies with error.
Check whether the IP of the new domain is the same as your hosting service. Remember that IP change takes approx.24H.
