Configuring Outlook 2007

Introduction

This guide will help you set up your POP accounts (email addresses) with Outlook 2007.
Just follow it step by step.


Steps

1. Open Outlook 2007.
2. Click on the Tools menu and click Account Settings ...



3. Click the New button to save a new e-mail.
4. Check the bottom left: "Manually configure server settings or additional server types".



5. Click the Next button
6. Select "Internet Message" and Next



7. On this page you must enter the following information:

Name: Jones
E-mail Address: For example contact@domain.com

Type of Account: POP3
Incoming mail server: pop3.domain.com or directly to our server ns0.ovh.net
Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.domaine.com or directly to our server ns0.ovh.net

User name: Your email address (Example: contact@domain.com)
Your password: Use the password for that account



8. Then click on "More Settings"



9. In the Outgoing Server, tab check the box "My outgoing server requires authentication to connect" and "Connect using:"

User name: Your e-mail address (Ex: contact@domain.com)
Your password: Use the password for that account

10. Tab Advanced Options, the outgoing port should must be 587



11. You can click OK, Next and Finish



  • Your account is now configured correctly!


Attention!


It is important you use the SMTP port 587 and check authentication to connect to the outgoing server__.
This is the outgoing port authentication for all ISPs.
