Use SMTP with OVH even if you use Tele 2 or AOL

Certain service providers (AOL, Tele 2, ...) can filter the SMTP server which obliges you to use only their server.

The goal of this is to control spam in their internal network and to avoid as many complaints as possible.

With OVH, all you have to do is use the SMTP on port 5025 (instead of port 25).



The configuration of your e-mail client must correspond as follows:



Name: Contact

Address: contact@yourdomain.com

pop Server: pop3.yourdomain.com

smtp: smtp.yourdomain.com:5025*

Account Name: contact@yourdomain.com

Password: your password





You can also replace the SMTP via your FAI: smtp.aol.com for example. This information can be obtained from your service provider.

• In Outlook Express, for example, the port number (5025) must be specified in the "Advanced" tab.
